Question

Recently, Richard asked you the following question on Facebook.

"During Operation Veritable a particular “reptilian” vehicle was very useful against pill-boxes. What was the vehicle’s name?"

Answer

“The answer is the Churchill Crocodile flamethrower tank! Take a look at this extract from the Operational Report of Colonel P.N. Veale, MC, of the 9th Royal Tanks Regiment…”

‘The use of Crocodiles was a great success against pill-boxes, foxholes in woods and built-up areas. Serious and stubborn resistance was overcome through the use of flame, which continues to terrify the enemy’

Well done if you knew the answer too!
